Bilateral vasectamy (vesectomy)

Vesectomy is a male sterilization operation. The visectomy is performed by utting the vas deferens tubes that are the sperm carriers from the testicles. Vasectomy reversal (reversing a vesectomy) may not work well.

Bilateral vasectamy vesectomy

Vascetomy (visectomy) vasectamy

Following your vascetomy you will probably need to rest the first few days afterwards. You may encounter some bruising and swelling but this is normal and only to be expected. You can cool down the affected area using ice and avoid too much physical activity which will normally do the trick in a few days for most men. You can have sex as soon as it feels comfortable but make sure to keep using contraceptives until you have had it confirmed that you are indeed sterile. You may have some sperm left in the system for a while after the operation. Your sperm still be there, but when the cells eventually die, your body will simply absorb the sperms.

If you have had this operation, you can not have any more children. Reversing a vasectomy is not always possible and at best it has a low success rate. A vasectomy (visectomy) is one of the safest ways to achieve sterilization for a couple, a s the tubal ligation (litigation) is a more complicated procedure.

Vasectomies - a vesectomy is a safe procedure

The National Institute of Health, as well as the WHO has judged the vasectomy operation to be completely safe. A male patient who has been sterilized with a vesectomy has no increased risk of developing any of the cancers like testicular, prostate etc - or any heart disease or indeed any other disorders - compared to if he had not had the operation. A very small fraction of the vasectomized men have reported suffering from testicular pain on a chronical basis.

It can be a hard deciscion to stop fertility and have a vascetomy operation. Some patients can feel uncomfortable by the feeling of no longer being able to father a child, it may also make the patient feel older. These problems are psychological only and will usually blow over in time.

Will the vascetomy change masculinity?

Having a visectomy will not in any way interfere with your feeling of masculinity. There will still be the same amount of hormones as before the vascetomy operation was performed and there will be no change in the pitch of your voice, your level of hairyness etc. You will not loose any of your male strength or stamina either through the vasectomy.
